Escondido Carmax employees collected school supplies during the month of September to donate to ECCDC. What an awesome surprise. Supplies were delivered last week by Carmax Employees Ilene Winter, Management Assistant and Johna Malloy, Assistant Business Office Manager. Receving the packages for ECCDC are students from the B-2 classroom at the Boyce Site and employees Lan Doan, Mayra Chavez and Patricia Esparza.

FRESH FROM MARION'S GARDEN
Flavia Ricardez picked fresh watermelon from Marion's Sensory Garden on the Lorraine Boyce campus. The watermelon plant has gone crazy this year with plenty of good size watermelon to serve to the children.
ECCDC STAFF TRAINING
ECCDC staff spent last week in training sessions to polish up on their Early Childhood Developement skills. Guest speakers fromK.I.T. and Palomar Colleger provided valuable sessions on early childhood brain development, dealing with behavior issues, and tips on furthing education. ECCDC teaching staff presented skits on licensing regulations, as well as, sessions on the food program, safety and human resources.
Special recognition was given to 15-year employees Mauricia Simon and Martha Avila and 5-year employees Wendy Carrillo and Mariela Benavides. Appreciation was given to Mentor Teacher committee representatives Marixol Wallez, Nikki James, Lupe Isla, Veronia Romero, Lizbeth Ortiz, Lan Doan and Monique Nunez and Safety Committee Members Shontal Quintero and Marcela Johnston. All staff were also recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments over the past year.

Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week - Board of Directors Honor Teacher
ECCDC BOARD HONORS HARD WORKING STAFF AND FAMILIES
ECCDC families were treated to a family barbeque hosted by the ECCDC Board of Directors. The barbeque was in appreciation to the hard working staff who daily provide excellent care and supervision for the children served each day. Employees and their families were treated food, music and raffles. A special appearance from Disney's Elsa and Snow White capped off the evening.
ANNUAL STONE SOUP DELIVERIES
Staff at ECCDC was busy delivering Stone Soup to members of the community recently. Along with the delicious soup and cookies was a story of the solider, in war time, who managed to bring an entire community together to contribute to the soup. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR HONOREES
Long time ECCDC Supporters Bob & Marion Wilson and ECCDC Golf Classic Chairpersons, Shelley deGana and Patti Call, were honored by the North County Philanthrophy Council during the 2105 NCPC Voulnteer Awards ceremony at the Sheraton Resort in Carlsbad. Over 500 were in attendance to recognize the dedication of so many voulnteers wo provide time and resources to make non-profits successful. Bob & Marion were presented with the Robert Krejci Standards of Excellence Awards. Shelley and Patti were presented with the Volunteers of the Year awards. Congratulations to everyone and than you for what you do to complete ECCDC.

TOTS 'N TRUCKS - A FUN TIME FOR ALL
ECCDC celebrated the graduation of 84, kindergarten ready, preschoolers on June 28. The graduations were held at the Lorraine Boyce Center on 9th Avenue and the Ruth Clothier Center at 613 E. Lincolon in Escondido. The celebration included song peformances by the graduates and presentation of diplomas. Each graduate was also presented with a backpack, full of school supplies, sponsored by the Escondido East Rotary Club and Glennies Office Products. Congrautlations to all of our graduates!

WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD CELEBRATED
ECCDC sites celebrated the Week of the Young Child April 11-15 with special activities planned throughout the week. Special days included Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, Superhero Day, Sports Day, Cowboy Day, Team Spirit Day, Healthy Habits Day and Working Together Day.
ECCDC STUDENTS HAVE FUN ON SAN DIEGO CHILDREN DISCOVERY MUSEUM FIELD TRIP
ECCDC Students and staff has a great time at the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum in Escondido on a recent field trip. Preschool students from the Ruth Clothier Child Development Center enjoyed playing with the many exhibits offered at the SDCDM. Thank you to the SDCDM staff for providing a field trip filled with great experiences and memories for the children.
